About Me

I have opinions but most of them are bullcrap. Its been more than a year since I have started blogging but all the stuff I write still sound gibberish. I guess I will just keep writing and hopefully someday I will be able to come up with something witty :).

Choices we make!

There are so many things we wonder in life about. Things we crave for. Our endless search for happiness. To be content is an issue for most of us. We keep on arguing about our rights and our needs. And even if we ever make it to the level where we achieve what we wanted, we cannot feel ultimately satisfied. Instead we start finding holes and immediately start complaining.

Well human nature I guess. We can never ever really get satisfied and stop complaining. No matter how well off we are or what we achieve there will always be a room for complaints. After all there is always a room for improvement!

People say we need to be happy and content with simple and small things that life bestows us with. We should stop complaining when we already have things that some people in this world cannot even imagine having. We should be thankful for what we have.

We have to understand that there are people who are fighting for survival almost every day. The simple fact that we ignore or choose to ignore is that we do have so many things compared to people out there in those war torn, poverty stricken countries. I think about those people (mostly the children), their sufferings. I think about people in Namibia, Ethiopia, I think about people in our country itself. There are people who don’t even have food to eat and roof for shelter. People who are in the midst of war praying for their lives hiding their head under those ruined buildings. And on the other hand here we are complaining about the luxuries we can’t afford, guys we can’t date and the guys who cheat on us and etc.

Yes, even though we are aware about those people suffering out there we choose not to pay attention. Or let’s say we choose not to feel responsible or choose not to feel like helping them. We can’t help but think about our own problems. And why not, after all we have more than we can handle. If we keep on worrying ourselves about them then who the heck is going to look after our problem? We ought to help ourselves first. Basically what we think is, if we are ourselves hungry then how in the world are we supposed to feed or help others anyway? And its not that we don’t want to help, it’s just that we have got problems of our own and they are our priorities. And to some extent it’s true, how can we possibly ignore our own hunger, needs and responsibilities? But, it’s not about priority or willingness or people not choosing to help those who are in need that I am trying to talk about. It’s about choices. It’s about people choosing not to be thankful for what they already have. And most importantly taking things they have for granted. The point is if you do not/cannot appreciate what you already have then how you dare to complain not getting something else. Wanting is not bad, we all have unlimited wants, but not appreciating what you have and not respecting it is a problem. You got to respect what you have, what you get, what you are provided with. It’s a gift so many people will do almost anything to get. So feel blessed, treasure it. It’s all about paying attention, being thoughtful, taking care and being thankful. Enjoy what you have and rest will follow!
